Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Statement
At True Alchemy Gardens, diversity is not a box we check — it is the soil we grow from. Our work is rooted in the understanding that every community deserves access to land wisdom, healthy food, and opportunities to connect with nature. We honor the richness of our shared humanity and believe that equitable access to land, food, and education is a fundamental right.
We are committed to:
-
Creating programs that reflect and serve the diverse cultures of our community
-
Uplifting historically marginalized groups, including Black, Brown, LGBTQ+, and immigrant communities
-
Ensuring that our leadership, programming, and partnerships embody equity and cultural humility
-
Providing accessible and inclusive educational opportunities in agriculture, herbalism, and sustainability
-
Building community-powered solutions that restore sovereignty, dignity, and connection to the land
True Alchemy Gardens stands firmly against discrimination, oppression, and inequity in all its forms.
We are growing a garden where everyone belongs.

Everyone plays a role in creating a positive environment. Offer help when you can, communicate clearly, and be accountable for your actions.

4. Cultural & Spiritual Humility
We welcome many backgrounds and practices. Please approach learning and community with openness, curiosity, and respect for traditions that may be different from your own.

5. Safety First
Follow all safety guidelines shared by staff or garden leaders. Report injuries, hazards, or concerns promptly so we can maintain a safe environment for all.

6. No Substance Misuse
The use of drugs or alcohol is not permitted during programs, workdays, volunteer hours, or events.

7. Conflict Resolution
If conflicts arise, we address them with honesty, compassion, and respect. Speak directly with staff if support is needed — we are here to help restore balance.
